FAQ's

How much filler do most people request in their lips?

This is a common question. We would suggest 1ml however, for those wanting a less dramatic effect or a top up, 0.5ml is recommended. We are reluctant to offer more than 1ml at a time, and would prefer to build gradually.

I already have filler administered by another clinic, and I don't know which brand. Is this an issue?

No, this isn't an issue as generally fillers can be mixed however, it is recommended that a minimum of three months has passed since the last treatment.

Can I be allergic to filler or anti-wrinkle treatments?

It is unlikely that you would be allergic to filler as it is naturally found in the body however, anti-wrinkle treatment is not suitable for everyone and for this reason it is incredibly important to arrange a consultation prior to any treatment.

How long will my lips stay plumped?

Everyone is different, but generally a first treatment would last 3-6mths, and second treatments 6-12mths. Further treatments in theory should last 12mths+ however, the longevity can be affected by things such as regular exercise and sun exposure.

What is the difference between filler and anti-wrinkle treatment?

Dermal fillers, sometimes called soft tissue fillers are substances designed to be injected beneath the surface of the skin to add fulness and volume to the face. Fillers are used to plump cheeks and lips, decrease shadows or wrinkles under the eyes, and to soften wrinkles and scars in the lower face.

Anti-wrinkle treatment is designed to 'freeze' facial muscles, and it works on wrinkles caused by muscle movement, sometimes known as "expression lines".

Another beautician has not correctly carried out my treatment, can you fix this?

This is something heard too often and is why it is recommended only to receive treatments from medically trained professionals, who have the knowledge, medication and supplies to safely carry out any treatments. Depending on the severity of the error, we may be able to help; please contact us.

Will I bruise?

Administering treatments sometimes can lead to bruising, and although generally most of our clients do not, it is a common side effect due to the number of blood vessels in the face. You may get tiny bruises or dramatic ones, but they tend to fade quickly.

Can I get a same-day appointment?

If you cannot see the availability that you want, please give us a call, we may be able to help!

I am under the age of 18, can I receive filler or anti-wrinkle treatments?

By law, you must be at least 18yrs of age to receive any treatments.

How soon can I wear makeup after treatment?

It is recommended to avoid wearing makeup for at least 8hrs after treatment however, if possible please wait 24hrs in order to allow the skin to heal, and reduce the risk of infection.

Will it hurt?

Each person's pain threshold is very different, therefore some people experience little to no pain, and others can find it uncomfortable. However, we can provide numbing aids to help reduce any discomfort.

After fillers have dissolved or have been removed, will my lips have been stretched?

Not at all, they will simply return to their natural size.

Do you use numbing cream?

Yes, for certain treatments such as lip enhancements however, some treatments do not require it.

Can I visit your clinic prior to any treatment?

Yes, you are more than welcome to visit our clinic. Please give us a call.

When should I come back for a top up?

It is completely up to you, but we would suggest a minimum of two weeks although, if you are content with the look then book in when you feel they are reducing in size.
